Oh No! Matt's leaving!

*WARNING* MASSIVE RANT AHEAD! *WARNING*

Whether you saw it on the news, or frantically refreshed doctorwhotv.com this morning, along with every other day, until it came up like I did, the BBC have now confirmed that the eleventh doctor is regenerating in this year's Christmas special. These are the main three reactions that I have seen so far:

 1. Normal Whovian reaction: "Matt Smith's leaving? NO! I really liked him as the doctor. *sobs*"

I can understand why you're saying this, that was my reaction at first, but think back to when Tennant was first confirmed to be leaving. Everyone thought that they would HATE the new doctor, but then after a series or two, eleven grew into the bow-tie obsessed alien that we all know and love.

2. People who only watched DW because they had a crush on David Tennant/didn't give eleven a chance after series 5: "HA! Good riddance. He was terrible anyway! Ten was a million times better, twelve will have some competition. Although, he (she?) will easily beat Matt Smith. Anyone could do a better job than him."

This is what most of my friends are like. Let me share my thoughts with you. HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT?!?!?!?!?!? I AGREE SERIES 5 WAS TERRIBLE BUT YOU CAN'T JUDGE A WHOLE PERSON OFF ONE TV SERIES! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO LEAVE HATE COMMENTS EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!! THERE! I WENT AND DID IT! I USED 11 EXCLAMATION MARKS INSTEAD OF TEN! HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT, HMMM? *clears throat* Sorry, I just had to get that out there. But seriously people, I know Ten was BRILLIANT, but we have to move on! And to those of you who didn't watch series 7 because you're not giving eleven a chance, you're missing out on a LOT.

3.  The Clara fangirls and/or Whoufflepuff reaction: "But we didn't even get ONE series with eleven and Clara! :("

Technically, if you include AotD, The Snowmen, the 50th and this year's Christmas special, we're only one episode short of a whole series. And if nine and Rose is anything to go by, they only had 13 episodes, but they weren't forgotten, and then Ten came along and did an even better job. So, look on the bright side! The same might happen with Twelve and Clara!

And now for the big question: Doctor Who? Who will play the twelfth doctor? To be honest, I can't think of an actor that would be perfect, but I'm happy as long as it's not John Hurt's doctor who was pretty much confirmed to be the one from the time war anyway because that would just be weird. Post in the comments who you think twelve should be played by.
